Has anyone here ever read this book?
"The Unbearable Lightness of Being" by Milan Kundera.
I just started reading this, and I have to tell you, I have read hundreds of books in my life, but rarely have I encountered a book like this.
It is intellegent, sensual, and throught-provoking.
Here are some quotes:
"Love is the longing for the half of ourselves we have lost."
"In the sunset of dissolution, everything is illuminated by the aura of nostalgia, even the guillotine."
"When the heart speaks, the mind finds it indecent to object."
Believe me, you will never read another novel like this. It was published in 1984, and I think most libraries have copies of it.
Get it, read it, and be moved by it.
