Regress
Regress - Regress means to go back or
move backward. It is the opposite of
progression. An example would be for
a 5 year old to revert to the behavior
of a 3 year old. Regressing is a way of
dealing with unacceptable impulses.
It is also a way of dealing with stressful
situations and is considered a defense
mechanism.
