I think all of us are a great bunch (mommies and all included).. never met a group of people who are so diverse yet possess such huge amounts of talents, creative energy and imaginations that astound.
I think we could take over the world.. hehehe.. babies unite! Forget Baby court.. we could start a baby revolution!
Lets set up our own government.. what sort of system should we run it on?.. lol I think a matriarchal system has a ring to it..

Oh my! I do not think the world is ready for that yet. Maybe we could start small like our own island.

CLOTH DIAPERS

CLOTH DIAPERS ARE BEST, THEY ARE SO VERY VERY SOFT AND WARM

I agree with JoeyD, cloth diapers are the best!
I like the Birdseye diapers the best, they are the softest, and I also love a babyish pair of plastic or rubber baby panties over them.

For me, they are disposable diapers

I would have to say that for me, it has got to be disposable diapers. The reason is that throughout my childhood, that was all that my parents used and everytime I went down the diaper aisle, I got really excited to see all the diapers. My favorite baby diaper is Pampers because of the way the package looks. I don't know about cloth diapers but for me, I like feeling the plastic against my butt and how the diaper feels when you take it out of the package. It is good times.

I like this idea a lot. Our own island nation. We could set up banking as the principal means of finance, people are always looking to hide money off shore.
Our flag could be a large white rectangle. I know, I know, people will think we are just serrendering all the time, but hey, we are lovers not fighters. Besides, we'd know it was just one of Glens diapers drying each day.
If the banking thing doesn't pan out, we can always declare war on the United States, show them our flag, surrender and get billions in ade to "re-build"
Our system of Govn. would be a Matriarchal Parliment made up of all the Mommy's and they would choose a PM from amongst themselves at 2 year intervals.
eventually we could branch off into resort and casino properties dedicated to the needs and desires of our kind. Imagine how well we would do if our patrons never had to leave the tables while gambling!?!?
We could call it "Pamperia"
Anyway, I am in...

I love all the replies. The poll shows a pretty close tie between cloth, disposable, and those that like both

Here is a little tip for pinning yourself...try pinning only one side before hand then you can stand up when putting them on and only have the one side to pin:)

That's good advice Janey, especially for babies who are new to cloth diapers.
For me, I have been diapering myself with cloth diapers and diaper pins for so long (almost 40 years) that I have gotten pretty good at it.
Although it's always nice to have a mommy help you with that.

Demon ....oh the fun I had imaiging a resort for ABies to gamble. I saw a restraunts that where lined with Big Abie sized high chairs ....and instead of napkiins you where brought a bib and your drink served in a sippie cup. Your meal would consiist of the finest gourmet baby food and the waitress would be as endearing as a mother would taking your order
The hotel would have male bell hops that would represnt daddy to take the luggage to the rooms for you as well as a female belll hop who would push ABie in an an ABie sized stroller. The room themselves of course would be dressed up like a nursery Abie size! supplied with the kind of diapers of your choice made when the reservation is booked! So disposable or cloth what ever you prefer:)
The thoughts are endless here you know. Just thought I would share a few of those thoughts here with you

How adorable Janey. I bet you are going to get all of the abies minds wandering off now to Abie Casino Royale.

Love both, but I can't get my soft cloth diapies anymore. The site I used to buy from stopped "due to slow volume." If enuf of us complain they'll restock. Here's the link complete with a real DL pic!

They used to stock the large size, birdseye cotton (extra soft on UR hinnie) and would even send the big safe-T pins, but now I don't know whre to go. Can you help an abie out and petition these guys?

Also agree with Potty Pants - you've got to get the plastic nappie going if you use real cloth!

though ive never been in cloth diapers, i can honestly say that disposables are a dream right now. but i tend to need to have more than one on to get the desired thickness that i want. all the disposables ive tried are thin. GRRR.
Either way, but...

I used to love the old-style plastic backed disposable diapers when you could get them. When Luvs introduced the diapers for girls and for boys (pink for girls, blue for boys) I was overjoyed. I bought a box (they came in boxes back then) of Luvs for Girls, and felt deliciously naughty when I got them home after my purchase at the supermarket.
But now, disposables have changed. Even the adult sized ones have changed. No more fun of the plastic backing. Nope.
So as I mentioned in another post, it's back to my roots of cloth diapers and plastic baby panties. You can't go wrong there

Thick, Soft Disposable Adult Diaper

Yes, the manufacturers are definately going to thinner disposables. The thickest disposable I've found is the Prevail IB "full mat" brief. I've promoted this product with more than one wearer, and I've yet to have someone disagree. Check out this picture of the exact product (fairly inexpensive too). [url]

I LOVE CLOTH DIAPERS. THEY ARE SO SOFT AND VERY WARM.
I HAVE BEEN WEARING CLOTH DIAPERS FOR A LONG TIME. I ONLY USE DISAPOSABLES WHEN TRAVELING SOMETIMES.
