Rain by Shel Silverstein

I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.
I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.

I love the rain. Just not too much of it.
I love to hear the wind on my window, I love to go outdoors when it's windy.
I love to go outdoors when it's windy and rainy.
But now we're getting to Summer. I guess I'll have to wait for the seasons to change again.

I've always loved Shel Silverstein! One of my faves is the one he wrote about being eaten by a boa constrictor:
Oh, I'm being eaten
By a boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor,
And I don't like it--one bit.
Well, what do you know?
It's nibblin' my toe.
Oh, gee,
It's up to my knee.
Oh my,
It's up to my thigh.
Oh, fiddle,
It's up to my middle.
Oh, heck,
It's up to my neck.
Oh, dread,
It's upmmmmmmmmmmffffffffff . . .

Awesome post lily. I always liked Shel Silverstein too. He always made things much more interesting. I also love B. Kliban of "Cats" fame and "Never Eat Anything Bigger Than Your Head" to name a couple.

He's just wonderful and always thought provoking. I love The Giving Tree - reminds me that where ever life takes you, you always come back home.
