Being a fan of Alyson Hannigan's since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" [and with my mom knowing that], she let me know that Alyson was being interviewed by Ellen on her show today.

I'd switched to it and it was goin' good.

Then they started talking about Alyson's new daughter.

Alyson and Ellen had discussed Alyson's eldest daughter [now 3 and a half] helping out with the baby [six months this week] and Alyson had mentioned that, when she's changing the baby's diaper, she'll ask her eldest to hand her a diaper.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but whenever I tend to hear a beautiful woman say the word "diaper", I honestly can't help but get an erection. Sadly, though, my mom was home [and was off tonight], so I couldn't really act on that memory until she went to sleep.

I actually had to go to sleep for an hour 'cause I knew that, if I was still awake, I'd be tempted to do something about it [though I wouldn't, but trying to keep my mind on other things would've been difficult].

Thankfully, though, by the time I woke up, it had died down.

Like I said, I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to.

Marty, I've noticed that, over time, diaper changes are becoming less and less public on TV. I can remember in quite a few TV shows (Degrassi: The Next Generation, The Invisible Man [2000], Dexter, Party of Five) where, when the baby's diaper needed changing, the act was performed, either in full or partially [i.e. didn't see the full change, but saw enough to know one was either about to be performed or saw enough to be given clues as to what was about to happen], but, lately, I can't tell you the last time I can remember a mention of a diaper change in a film or on a TV series and, even if it was mentioned nowadays, they tend to omit the word "diaper" (i.e. "Somebody needs a change", "Somebody's wet"). Even on soap operas [which is generally geared toward women who, at times, are home with young children), some of the female characters tend to omit the word "diaper" when talking about a diaper change (i.e. saying "needs to be changed" or "I have to change him" isntead of "needs to get a diaper change" or "I have to change his diaper").

One example I've noticed is on "How I Met Your Mother". Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and Marshall (Jason Segel) have recently had a baby and yet there have been very few mentions of their son needing to be changed [I was almost going to say "no mentions", but then I remembered they did mention it once]. I'm not saying they should discuss it every time, but once in a while, I think it would be nice to see that their son is just like a regular baby. Most of the time, it seems like he's just there for the cuteness factor [which is okay since he's an adorable baby], but I feel that the writers are neglecting showing us how life with a newborn could be. I was waiting and waiting for Alyson's character to finally get pregnant and, now that she has, I hadn't really seen a lot of interaction with the baby that, to me, makes that decision by the writers worth it.

Another instance where a baby is part of a series is "Bones", though that decision to include a baby in the characters' lives, unlike "How I Met Your Mother", was due to the main actress on the show (Emily Deschanel) becoming pregnant in real life, so they wrote it into the script. (though there has been at least one instance where Brennan's [Emily] daughter needs her diaper changed, Brennan didn't use the word. She, again, sidestepped it by saying the phrase "change her" instead of "change her diaper". It's almost like the writers are deliberately going out of there way to avoid using that word. Why? I don't know.

Well, good news is that Jules Callaghan (played by Amy Jo Johnson) on "Flashpoint" has recently become pregnant with her partner's child ("partner" as in partner on her team, though they are dating), so, in the time that they have left (it's their last season and they've got three episodes to go), I'm hoping we see the two of them at least mentioning the pregnancy again. They mentioned it once to tell the audience, but they haven't brought it up since, though Jules was vague about it with a coworker, she didn't physically mention that she was having a baby.

I saw an interview with Seth McFarlan of family guy. He said the FCC is SUPER strict about any type of toilet function. He was shocked at how they didn't bat an eye at all the gory bloody violence, but would reject scenes with Stewie and his poopie diapers. Here is a song they sing on the show about the FCC.

Peter: They will clean up all your talking in a menace such as this
Brian: They will make you take a tinkle when you want to take a p*ss
Stewie: And they'll make you call fellatio a trouser-friendly kiss

I am a big fan of stewie and the show actually does get taway with a lot I love some of the stuff he says:

Stewie: Did you forge my name? How dare you! Is this backwards "S" supposed to be cute? I'm going to crap double for you tonight.

Stewie: OK, Harold, what do you think of our Mad Lib?
[clears throat]
Stewie: Cinderella had two step-'watermelons', who were very 'smelly' to her. So her fair god'toilet' turned her pumkin into a big 'fanny', and dragged her off to the 'poop'.
[short laugh]
Stewie: Oh, how ruthlessly absurd.

Stewie: Oh, forgive me for not being one of those anorexic babies from the diaper commercials.

Stewie: No, you idiot. That's not baby powder, that's paprika. Ahhhh! Take that.

Not to mention that episode with Brian and Stewie in the bank vault where Stewie basically tricked Brian into eating the poop directly out of his diaper after Brian had removed it from him. I still can't believe they got away with that. lol

There was actually an episode of "How I Met Your Mother" on recently where Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and Marshall's (Jason Segel) infant son was suffering from constipation. There was a scene near the end of the episode where Marshall had laid him on the counter top to change his diaper and as he opened it up, apparently that's when their son decided he was finished being constipated...because it had went all over Marshall and that point. lol

Though since it was being told from a narrative point of view by a father to his two teenagers, he'd explained that instead of using the expletive or any other word for defecation, they'd use the word "confetti" instead...

..and that's exactly what shot out all over Marshall. lol Prompting Lily to calmly exclaim, "Holy confetti".
