A Babies Doctor Visit

A Babies Doctor Visit - by Mikey
I wake up and feel the warm sun warming up the side of my face. As I squirm and stretch I hear mommy walk across the room toward my little crib. Sometimes mommy likes to have the sun do her work and wake me up. I'm not ready to open my eyes because im still a bit sleepy and I feel different somehow this morning. My whole body tingles more and more as I slowly wake up. I look up and see mommies face, but its not the normal smiley face im used to seeing. I hear her say "oh baby............ are you ok?" I dont recognize what she is saying but im not comforted by the way she sounds or the look on her face. I dont know what else to do, so I start to cry. The tears running down my cheeks feel good as they cool off small paths of my face. Mommy wisks me up out of bed quickly, and carries me straight to the changing table. She unzips my little sleeper and i get a chill and cry a bit more. Mommy looks down at me and frowns. "oh honey.. your sick arent you?" I look up at her trying to understand why she sounds so different and why i feel so odd. I usually have much more energy at this point in the morning but im still so tired. I rub my eyes as mommy takes off my diaper and notices that I havent wet my diaper yet today. Mommy picks up a weird looking toy and holds it to her head. It makes some funny noises and then she talks into it. "Yes doctor he has little bumps on him. No I havent taken his temperature. Hold on ill do it now." Again I try to figure out what mommy is doing and saying. She reaches into a drawer and pulls out a small stick. Mommy lifts up my legs and puts the stick on my bottom. She holds it there for a minute but she looks at me and smiles. I smile as much as i can back. Im so happy to see her smile at me. She then holds the stick back up and talks into the toy in her hand. "He has 102. Ok we will be right there". She sets the toy down and I wonder if I will get to play with it. She quickly gets me dressed and puts me in the car. I want to stay awake so bad, but my eyes are heavy and I fall asleep.
My eyes start to focus when i hear mommy calling for me. I look up and im in a different room. I snuggle with mommy because i dont know this place and i still feel funny. Mommy looks at me and hugs me tight. "mommy is going to get baby all fixed up" I love mommies voice and all fixed up sounds good. I smile. Mommy picks me up and turns me around sitting me on her lap facing away from her. Now i can really see the rest of the room. There are toys in the corner and lots of big chairs in here. I see a bright car in the toy pile and i want it. I reach my hand out but its too short. Mommy sees this and kisses me on the forehead. My arm is tired now so i put it down. I start to squirm and whimper. Mommy rubs her hand on my back and slides my paci into my mouth. I love my paci. I suckle on it and i dont remember the car anymore. Mommy bounces me up and down on her legs just a little. It makes the room look funny. She does this for awhile and then i see someone call out to mommy. Mommy picks me up gently and carries me into another room.
This room is much smaller and its even colder. I cuddle close to mommy looking for warmth. Mommy squeezes me just a little. I close my eyes and start to fall asleep again when a man comes into the room. I hear him and mommy talking but I dont understand any of it. Its not happy talk. I squirm and then see the man look at me. "Hey big guy how are we doing today. Your mommy says your not so good huh" He smiles at me and so I smile back. Mommy then picks me up and sits on a big bed. Mommies have changing tables too i guess. She lays me down across her lap as she sits on the big table. Mommy unzips my sleeper again and i feel cold. I squirm and kick my feet. I dont like this. The man comes to me and looks at me and nods at mommy. They talk more and then he puts something funny over his ears and then touches something to my chest. Its feels funny, especially over my tingling skin. He moves it around my body and it almost tickles. I look to mommy and she is smiling so i know im ok somehow. The doctor seems to be done and takes the toy out of his ears. Mommy zips me back up. I hear the man talking to mommy again and then she sits me up. I look up to see the man with a small dropper. He puts it up against my lips as mommy takes my paci out. My mouth feels so empty and this dropper almost feels like a paci. I open up and suckle on it. It tastes funny and i make a face. Mommy and the man laugh. The stopper is pulled from my mouth and again i want my paci. Mommy is quick to put it back as I whimper.
The man leaves the room after handing mommy a piece of paper. Mommy picks me up and hugs me tight. "See baby mommy is going to get you all better. " Her voice is full of the mommy cheer I like so I smile around my paci. She carries me out to our car and im content. The bouncing of her walk makes me tired though. I start to close my eyes as I feel a warmth spread in my pants. Then it gets foggy as I relax completely safe and secure with my mommy again.
