Mommies, what are your thoughts on spankings?

Hi there mommies, I was curious to ask you all what are your thoughts on spankings? Are they the most effective for you when you discipline? What is it about spankings that make them effective? What do you like about spankings that makes it so effective? How does mommy spank? Does she spank right away or wait until bedtime some to add to the anticipation sometimes?
