Diaper Commercial

Post by MommieSara »

This might be a cool assignment for the babies and Mommies to work on together. I have spoken with several of my babies and we think that Pampers, Luvs and Huggies need to pay more attention to the adult lifestyle. Although I performed no such research I would venture a guess that we are supplying them with healthy profits and they need to gear their products more in our direction, from size, comfort, and design.

Whos with me?

Okay, so any ideas of an adult diaper commercial that we could pitch to the marketing directors?

Great idea Sara! :D

However, for me, I would like to see a return to the "old-fashioned" cloth diapers and plastic "rubber" panties, both for "big" babies and little ones too.

Here is an idea for a modern cloth diaper commerical.

Two mothers are sitting in a living room having coffee, when one of them smiles and wrinkles up her nose.

"Uh, oh, I think I smell something,"

Both women exchange smiles as they gaze at the baby playing on the floor. The other mom then goes over to her infant and pulls back the top of his pants and looks inside his diaper.

"Yes, he's filled his pants. Shooo-wee!"

The other mom then notices the telltale bulk of his cloth diapers and smiles.

"Is he wearing cloth diapers?" She asks.

"And rubber pants too." His mother adds, laying him down on the floor to change him.

"I'm using these new "Retro-Dydees", which are cloth diapers, rubber pants and diaper pins, just like our grandmothers used back in the 1950's."

"They feel so soft." The other mom says, as she holds a diaper up to her cheek.

Phew! Somebody needs a changing.

No doubt they know

Post by pinkluvs »

I'm sure marketing is aware of AB/DL people, but stigma is preventing them from cashing in.
I would love to see the return of plastic-backed diapers, and from what I've seen on ebay, if you have any of these left from 10 or so years ago, they sell for quite a lot of money. The highest sell I've seen was close to 300 dollars! Think about it: someone spent maybe 10 dollars back then, and they made a 3000% profit. The usual amount for an unopened package of size 5 or 6 plastic-backed diapers is about 100 to 150 dollars on ebay. Not a bad investment at all. That's WAY better than any stock performance I've ever seen except for when the dot coms were really cooking.
I wish I invested in "classic" or "vintage" pampers/Luvs/Huggies. I'd be rich right now thanks to ebay sales.

So no doubt marketing is indeed aware, and would just love to bring back plastic-backed diapers to get a piece of the action, and as suggested, an adult line. But as I said, they would have to be very clever with their marketing to avoid looking like they are involved in the AB/DL community business-wise.

Just my two bucks worth-inflation you know!

:D

Happy New Year everyone.

Little Stinky Britches is also right

Again, on ebay the old cloth Curity 21" by 40" diapers also go for extremely high prices. Again, I've seen sales for a box of 10 from the 1970s go for over 200 dollars. Vintage plastic pants also go for big bucks

Another opportunity missed since these sold for about 10 or 12 dollars for the diapers, and about two to three dollars for a 3-pack of plastic pants, and now, good luck finding them. I saw a pair of Gerber Toddler size plastic pants sell for 125 dollars. Talk about profit!

There is one company...

Post by pinkluvs »

Check out abuniverse.com
They are selling essentially replica Pampers Baby-Dry style diapers with the plastic-backing, and the single tape that is essential as far as many including myself are concerned. These are of course adult-sized.

I'm intrigued, and carefully watching the reviews, but so far so good!

I believe it's a Chinese company that makes them. Once again, they beat us to the punch, and more power to them in this case.

Whew! My fingers are tired from my brain making me write out all of these comments.

If anyone wants to just have fun with this and not take it so serious I bet it could be a lot of fun. I look forward to creative ideas!

I have seen where there was a adult diaper fashion show in Japan, the models walked down the runway with a diaper on. It seems that adult diapers are a big thing in Japan. I have some of the AB Universe plastic diapers and I love them. I would model them for mommy Sara anytime!!!

I'm sorry

Post by pinkluvs »

Sorry MommySara, but I couldn't resist.

Us DLs know their diapers and what we like, and what we can't have anymore :(

It's a shame, but maybe things will change someday :D

I just had a need to give what I know. I certainly hope that it was of some use to someone.

My apologies again.

Very sorry again

I think I wrote too much. I just want to find a hole, and hide in it now. I feel terrible.
I am truly sorry if I offended. This was not my intention. I just thought that these facts would be informative.

Until later,

Sara, I seen the Burger King commercial and loved it. I think they could do one with the baby in a high chair and a mommy cuts up a hamburger and puts it on the tray for him and maybe some fries as well. We could do one like that for P.A.M. We could have a buch of adult babbies crying and you and Mommy Candy come in the room and see to our needs.

It looks like...

It looks like the guy in the commercial is actually wearing a diaper under his sleeper. Maybe it's just my imagination.

How about this?

Post by naughtyboyutah »

A guy is stressed out at work and very worried about the meeting he is about to go to. He tries to relax by doing some yoga and then tries silent meditation or something and then finally in walks all the phone a mommy mommies and come over to him and all help put him back into diapers and hug him tight. You can see him smiling as he feels all his cares melt away. And at the end, Stacie can say into the camera, sometimes when you are at work, all you need is a change as she holds up a diaper bag with diapers in it. Give phone a mommy a call, you will not be disappointed.

I have read that maybe, and I do mean maybe, that those who make baby diapers are interested in making larger sizes for adults.

It would be great if they brought back plastic-backed disposable diapers for us big kids :)

Us diaper lovers all need a diaper that suits us, and you're right about the market share.

I read that disposable diapers dropped in sales since they went to the cloth-like backing. It's been a while since I read this, and I can't give a link. :(

I do remember one time when I was buying Pampers back in the day of plastic-backed diapers, and there was some other guy with a mechanic's uniform on. He looked nervous, and I knew what he wanted. He wanted to buy diapers for himself.

I felt a bit sorry for him, and just went about my business, and got two packages of Pampers size 6.

I remember those days of being nervous. I went through that when I was in high school. I would always seek out a woman cashier, and "pad-out" my purchase with things I didn't need.

Okay, now I'm rambling.

I have heard good and bad about the cushies. Some love them and have rave reviews, others do not like the tabs or say they leak. So I think it goes about personal preference, just like in all things in life.

I enjoyed reading this thread. Great job everyone who participated.
