Saw pic; posting a story spoiler of mine w/ question

Post by Diapers4Ever »

I saw this picture on someone else's Facebook Wall...

and, feeling that it was very true, it gave me the idea to pose a question to all of you regarding a story I'm working on.

In the story, I've got a daycare centre which caters to ABs, TBs and DLs and I wanted to basically make it impenetrable so I wanted to let you all know what I had planned and I was wondering if you could look at the list of what I have and let me know if you feel it's too much security, just the right amount or not enough.

Outside the Daycare Centre

1: As a car drives up to the daycare, it will pass several scanners that will scan for any known type of weapons, firearms, or explosives. If anything like that is detected, the car is instantly disabled by an EMP and the doors are locked, allowing security to deal with the threat.

2: There are bulletproof, fireproof and shatterproof mirrored glass doors in the front of the building, but with the need for every employee to bypass the following ten methods of security before entering.

3: Stage 1: An Access Card

Access cards are coded to the individual’s DNA which means that if someone else is using their card, the doors will not open. (This also avoids issues with early employees clocking in late employees) It also makes them impossible to forge. Not to mention that if someone steals the card and tries to use it three times and is denied on the third instance, the police are automatically notified and, to keep them from escaping, a gel cements their feet to the floor. Once the card is swiped, the employee is clocked in. There is also an access card slot inside the daycare centre, so whenever the day finishes, everyone is automatically clocked out through a master access card that only the head owner has access to, which is in the safe along with the remote to control the cage (which will be referenced later). With the card being coded to the individual’s DNA, all they have to do is slide the card through the access card slot (similar to a hotel room) and then remove it. After that, a screen comes up and says, “Access Card Accepted; Please Face Forward For Facial Recognition”.

4: Stage 2: Facial Recognition

Stand in front of the camera for five seconds (it gives you a countdown), let it take your picture (without smiling) and when it cycles through the employee manifest and matches your picture and says “Facial Recognition Accepted; Please Place Hand On Platform For Fingerprint Recognition”, you know it worked.

5: Stage 3: Fingerprint Recognition

You place your hand on the gelatin scanning plate which takes exact fingerprints. It analyzes all four of your fingerprints and your thumbprint. Going through the list, when it matches it up with the correct print and says “Fingerprint Recognition Accepted; Please Keep Hand On Platform For Hand Geometry Recognition”, you know it worked.

6: Stage 4: Hand Geometry Recognition

Keeping your hand placed onto the platform with your fingers and thumb on the specific spots, it analyzes your hand and, after confirming it, it says “Hand Geometry Recognition Accepted; Please Place Eye On Elevated Platform For Iris Recognition”. It also analyzes the nerves in your fingers; that way the “Hand Geometry Recognition” cannot be tricked if someone were to simply cut off someone’s hand and try to pass it off as their own.

7: Stage 5: Iris Recognition

Placing their eye on the elevated platform, a laser accurate to .009 millimeters scans the iris and, after cycling through, when it comes up as “Iris Recognition Accepted; Please Leave Eye On Platform For Retinal Scan”, you know it worked. It also analyzes the nerves in your eyes; that way the “Iris Recognition” cannot be tricked if someone were to simply cut out someone’s eye and try to pass it off as their own.

8: Stage 6: Retinal Scan

Leaving their eye on the platform, a second laser, accurate to .009 millimeters, passes over the eye in reverse and, after cycling through, when it comes up as “Retinal Scan Accepted; Please Speak Call Sign Into Voice Box”, you know it worked. It also analyzes the nerves in your eyes; that way the “Retinal Scan” cannot be tricked if someone were to simply cut out someone’s eye and try to pass it off as their own.

9: Stage 7: Voice Recognition

Speaking their call sign into the voice box, it cycles through and, when it matches the voice print, it says, “Voice Print Accepted; Please Place Tongue Against Pad For DNA Recognition”. The computer is also specially formatted so that, if someone were to simply record said person’s voice, they wouldn’t accept it. The voice must be heard when the person is directly in front of the box. Another upgrade to the voice recognition system is that the computer can tell when a person is speaking their call sign under duress (i.e. if someone is using them to break in) by comparing that voiceprint with the one they normally give the computer. If the computer senses the frightened difference in the person’s voice, they will state, “Access Denied; Police Alerted” (the computer is advanced enough to be able to tell the difference between someone speaking their call sign under duress and if they’re just tired) and, after scanning the area outside, instantly freeze to the floor anyone that the security camera does not recognize as an employee or charge of the daycare centre also sending an electromagnetic pulse through the floor of where the other individual was, instantly disabling any weapons or other electronic devices. Once you have spoken your call sign and it has been accepted, it states “Voice Print Accepted; Please Place Tongue Against Pad For DNA Recognition.”

10: Stage 8: DNA Recognition

You must lick the pad so your saliva can be transferred to the pad so the system can accurately cycle through the records to match the DNA. It also analyzes the papillae on someone’s tongue so, combined with the saliva, it is virtually impossible to bypass (say, if someone were to cut out someone’s tongue). Once it worked, it comes up with a screen that says “DNA Recognition Accepted; Please Enter Your Six-Digit Access Code” and the pad is self-cleaning of any remaining traces of saliva.

11: Stage 9: A Six-Digit Access Code

There is a different six-digit access code for everyone, which is tied to all of the other measures, giving an extra implication of security, since if someone knew the six-digit access codes, they wouldn’t work because said person would need all of the other information. The six-digit access codes used for the staff are their (actual actor) birthdays. (For example, since Eliza Dushku’s birthday is December 30th, 1980, her access code as Top Dog would be “123080”.) This is actually the only security measure that could be bypassed if an intruder knew any one of the staff’s codes, but with everything else as a security precaution, it wouldn’t matter. After DNA Recognition, a screen comes up and states “Enter Your Six-Digit Access Code”. After entering the six digits, it says “Access Code Accepted; Please Stand In Front of Entrance For Final Security Measure.”

12: Stage 10: Full Body Scan

Standing in front of the mirrored door, a green light passes over the individual’s entire body and, when finished, a voice says, “Body Scan Accepted; Enter When Ready.” And the doors unlock. The doors slide open and, after walking through the doors (which are also equipped with a metal detector), if the individual has no metallic items on themselves at that point, the doors slide closed behind them. If there are any metallic items on the person after the full body scan, a computerized voice tells them to remove them and set them in the dish which is located off to the side near the metal detector (similar to the setup at a courthouse). If the person is carrying a gun, the computer will access their files to find a reason for it (police officer, CSI, etc.); if the reason is a valid one and they have a permit to carry said weapon, they are allowed to keep it for protection purposes. If the reason is invalid, a force-field goes up around the dish with the metallic objects and will not be deactivated until said person is leaving the daycare centre. The full body scan also scans the brain to make sure that the current brain scan matches the original one (in the unlikely event that one of the staff had been replaced with a clone, a robot or an evil twin or had been brainwashed).

13: Two security guards standing watch from 6 in the morning until 6 at night. (both getting there one hour earlier and staying one hour later)

14: All individuals must walk through a full-scale metal detector (which is built into the front doors) before entering the building.

15: If there are any people who are not employees of the daycare centres, before walking through the metal detector, the guards ask them to surrender all objects that could set off the metal detector, then give them Visitors’ passes.

16: The windows are tinted to avoid anyone being able to see inside or anyone being able to plant cameras on the outside being able to see inside that way, however, to anyone on the inside looking out, they look just like normal windows. The windows are also fireproof, bulletproof, shatterproof and soundproof.

17: There is a reception desk in the front lobby where, if there are guests that the receptionist does not recognize, the receptionist, after asking for their Vistors’ passes, asks the following questions before letting them show their passes to the third security guard and finally granting them entry. If any questions are answered “Yes”, the receptionist presses another button which sticks the individual (or individuals) to the floor, then presses another button to summon Security and, after pressing the same button that stuck the individual (or individuals) to the floor, escort them off of the property.

The following questions are asked before granting entry.

• Do you have any prior criminal record?
• Have you, at any time, acted out in anger towards children?
• Have you at anytime had sexual desires towards children?
• Have you ever been under the influence of any drug products?
• Have you ever been arrested for driving under the influnce of alcohol or other substances?
• Do you suffer from any kind of addictions?
• Have you ever, at any time, sent a false alarm to Fire or Police, knowing this will or may cause them to miss a real emergency?
• Have you ever committed any acts of arson?
• Have you ever committed any act of vandalism?
(for members in law enforcement) Have you ever accepted any money to make key evidence disappear?
(for members in law enforcement) Have you ever been on the payroll of any organized crime syndicate while in law enforcement?
(for members in law enforcement) While working in law enforcement, have you ever worked for a politician tha has rigged an election in their favor?
• Have you ever served in the Military and, if so, did you ever participate in missions that were operated by a government agency outside the branch of service you were in?
• Have you ever been associated with any hate group?
• Have you ever used the Internet to purchase items to use in the committing of a crime?
• Have you ever impersonated a law enforcement officer, (I.E. Local, County, State, Federal) to get out of trouble that will get you arrested?
• Have you ever impersonated Military Personnel to get access to military information?
• Have you ever taken a polygraph test that came back inconclusive?
• Have you ever taken a polygraph test that came back negative for any questions?

You need an access card, retinal scan, fingerprint identification, voiceprint identification and a six-digit access code to open the doors before entering the daycare centre. A child’s parent is given a special passcard that will only open the front doors only so they can drop off their child. There is also another security guard at the gate entrance before entering the daycare centre which also checks the I.Ds at the door. When the person with the card arrives at the main gate, the Security guard checks the I.D. Once they confirmed that is authentic, the gate is opened. When the parent arrives at the daycare center itself, the card is still used to open the doors. However, the rest of the security fetures are overridden. but when the child is picked up in the evening, DNA is checked to verify that said parent picking them up is the child's parent or guardian. If the DNA test is wrong, the individual’s feet are frozen to the floor and the police are alterted.

Inside the Daycare Centre

Whenever there is an unauthorized intruder in the daycare centre, when they step too far inside, an invisible force-field is activated and a piece of the song “Who Invited You?” by The Donnas is played, which is repeated until the owner turns it off.

Cellular phone jammers are also set up in each room which are tied to the security system, being automatically turned on when an unauthorized visitor enters the centre.

There is a new room erected in the wake of the renovations known as the “Security and Surveillance Room”. Inside cameras will be behind mirrored globes, but outside camera will be in all-weather casings. There are a total of 20 cameras [as well as 1 individual person moinoring each individual camera] and this is where they are placed:

• 2 cameras in the Main Area (one on the left side and one on the right side)
• 1 camera in the Boys' Changing Room
• 1 camera in the Girls' Changing Room
• 2 in the Main Lobby area (one on the left side and one on the right side)
• 1 in the hall that leads to the Main Area
• 1 in the Supply Room
• 2 in the Lunch Room (one on the left side and one on the right side)
• 2 in Outside Play Area
• 2 along Exterior driveway leading up to the daycare centre
• 2 at the Exterior's Main Gate
• 1 in the owner's office
• 1 in the Staff Room
• 1 in the Boys’ Bathroom
• 1 in the Girls’ Bathroom

Just a small notice, everybody...the security upgrades aren't finished. :) This is just what I've got so far.

Oh, and if you happen to choose the "Not enough security" poll option, I'd love it if you could let me know what to add. :)

Likewise, if you choose the "Too much security" poll option, I'd love it if you could let me know what to remove. :)
