Waking Up - by Mikey

Its funny I never remember going to sleep but waking up is always an experience. This morning was extra special. Mommy always lays me on my back at night, i guess its so i can see the little mobile in my crib. I hear my favorite sound in the world. Its mommy. "Hey little man" she says. I open my eyes and try to see her but for now at least all i see is blurry. Hearing her voice is enough for me though. I dont understand what she is saying to me, but it makes me smile all the same. I kick my feet a little to let her know im here and to help her find me. After all i am covered up with my little blue blankie and teddy is next to me. As i kick my legs i feel my little diaper move across my bottom. Mommy always puts me in one, i think they are funny cause they make funny noises when i move. I feel mommy picking me up from under my arms and i can finally make out her face. im in heaven. I kick my legs more trying to help mommy pick me up faster so i can feel her next to me. The little footie pjs losen at the feet when she picks me up. I feel warm as she leans me against herself and carries me across the room. Still sleepy I listen to her heartbeat as she pats my bottom. She lays me on the changing table. I just look up and smile at her. She takes time to rub her finger across my face and touches my little nose. i giggle, mommies are silly sometimes. I feel her reach down between my legs and tug. I dont know what shes tugging on but i hear a couple pops and then i feel cool air around my legs. Mommy tugs on my footies and slides it up. Then i feel her stick two fingers in my diapie to check. I dont know why she does that, but it tickles. So i laugh. Im getting hungry so while i watch mommy busy with my diaper i chew on my fingers. Not too hard though becuase i have these sharp things now. Mommy calls them chompers. I smell some sweet smells then i feel mommy rubbing my bottom. Shes so gentle with me. She lifts my legs and slides something under me. I guess its one of those silly noise pants. After i feel her press my tummy she lifts me again. I look into her eyes and she asks me what we should wear today. I smile. I dont know what wear means. She gets a cute romper out for now. Slides it over my head and for a brief moment i lose sight of her. I get anxious hoping she didnt go anywhere. when my head comes through i see her again and smile really big. She finishes dressing me and sets me on the floor. Wow mommy is soo tall. I try to stand up and walk, but only make it a few steps and then fall back on my little noisy pants. that wont stop me though. Im hungry and i need to get to the kitchen to eat. I crawl as fast as i can.

Today is going to be a good day. I smile.
