John’s Diaper Therapy (Part 2)

“So, tell me,” Dr. Karen leaned forward, her eyes intense behind her glasses, “what brings you here today?”
John shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his hands clenching and unclenching. “I… I’ve been feeling overwhelmed. Like I can’t handle things anymore.”
“What kinds of things?” Dr. Brenda asked gently, her pen poised over her notebook.
“Everything,” John sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Work, relationships, just… life, I guess.”
Dr. Karen nodded thoughtfully, making a note. “And how long have you been feeling this way?”
“Years,” John admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Hmm,” Dr. Karen mused, tapping her pen against her chin. “Have you ever considered trying something unconventional to help manage these feelings?”
John frowned, curiosity piqued despite his reservations. “What do you mean by unconventional?”
“Age regression therapy,” Dr. Karen stated matter-of-factly. “It’s a form of therapy where adults are encouraged to regress to a younger state of mind, often accompanied by certain behaviors and props associated with childhood.”
John blinked, unsure how to respond. “Like… playing with toys and stuff?”
“Exactly,” Dr. Karen confirmed with a small smile. “It can be very therapeutic for someone overwhelmed by adult life’s pressures. It allows them to reconnect with a simpler time when worries were fewer and more manageable.”
John hesitated, his mind racing with thoughts and questions. “I… I don’t know. It sounds kind of weird.”
“It might seem unusual at first,” Dr. Karen acknowledged, “but many people find it incredibly helpful. Would you be willing to at least consider it? I think it could really benefit you.”
After a long pause, John nodded slowly. “Okay, I guess I could try it.”
“Excellent decision,” Dr. Karen said, her tone encouraging. “I’ll refer you to a specialized facility that offers age regression therapy. They’ll take good care of you there.”
A week later, John found himself standing outside the facility, his nerves jangling like a jar full of marbles. The building looked innocuous; a single-story structure painted a soothing blue with cheerful cartoon characters adorning the walls. He took a deep breath and pushed open the door.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and plush furniture. An older woman greeted him from behind a reception desk. “Hello! You must be John. I’m Brenda, your facilitator for today. Come on back, Dr. Karen has already filled us in on your situation.”
John followed Brenda down a hallway, his heart pounding in his chest. They stopped in front of a room labeled ‘Play Therapy.’ Brenda opened the door and gestured for him to enter. “Go on in, make yourself comfortable. I’ll be right back with everything we need for your session.”
The room was filled with toys and colorful cushions, reminding John of a kindergarten classroom. He hesitated for a moment before stepping inside, his anxiety mingling with a strange sense of curiosity.
Brenda returned a few minutes later carrying a large bag. “Here we go,” she said cheerfully, setting the bag on a low table. “Let’s get started, shall we?”
